Ive searched on here and cant find exactly what im wantin to know. So here it goes, my air dont work so im wanting to pull it out so can i just remove the air pulley and use a belt for a non a/c truck? Or do i need another pulley to go there? also what about the box?

Re: Help with removing A/C

Some have claimed to run a shorter belt and been fine. I like to use the AC delete pulley that the ones without air came with.

The non ac pulley can be found anywhere. It had bearings so it wears out so parts stores carry it. I know they normally all over ebay.

Yep, you're gonna need one of these:

After you bolt it up in place of the compressor, run the belt the exactly the same way that it was when you had AC. Getting the compressor out can be "fun" since one of the bolts can be a royal PITA to remove. Just line up the flat side of the head against the compressor and tap it out with a hammer and a punch from the back.

You won't have to cut anything, Just unscrew the hard lines and leave the stubs sticking out of the blower box like I have seen on numerous trucks over the years.

Re: Help with removing A/C

i dton think it really matters..usually u can get a non a/c belt and it should work without the pulley..but i guess its just what u would feel comfortable getting...id rather have the shorter belt.......

Re: Help with removing A/C

No you need that pulley, I tried like hell to find a way to route it with out it. Turns out you need an 84" belt..which they do not make with the 6 grooves. The A/C belt is 95.5" and the non A/C is 94". This is all true for my 95 s-10 at least.

Re: Help with removing A/C

I'm running a shorter belt on mine right now. Works fine. Haven't even removed everything, they just gave me the wrong belt at autozone and I needed the truck immediately....and haven't given two shits since. I'll replace it sooner or later.
