crank options for an 85 2.8

so I was searching for a crank for my 85 vin B...I called a few machine shops, and supposedly there are more then one option...the most common one was casting 504 20/20 which is the larger of the 2.....without pulling my pan AGAIN what can I look at to see which crank it is...are there casting numbers on the block I can decipher??

Re: crank options for an 85 2.8

The early 2.8's had small journal cranks/externally balanced and were problematic,I suggest finding a newer 2.8 with a one piece seal/internally balanced and bigger journals and build it,otherwise any of the early small journal cranks will suffice.
