Blown head gasket
I've got a blown head gasket in my '91 2.8. I'm trying to put off working on it until I can afford a new or rebuilt unit. I'd also rather not sink the $$ into it to swap the gaskets. It's a pure compression leak right out of the side of the middle cyl on the left side (#5 I believe). I'm not blowing any coolant or oil, and they're not mixing either. It runs fine just loud as hell (16 mi a day). What are the chances of using something like JB weld (redneck, I know) to just seal the hole? My biggest fear would be sealing it up externally and then having the compression from that cylinder blowing out to the oil or coolant.... Any suggestions welcome

Re: Blown head gasket
I don't think JB weld would work for more than a few minutes, it would be exposed to the combustion heat. I think a new gasket is the only thing that will work.
