'96 s10 runs good but quits with no notice.

I have had this truck for a few years. the whole time it has had a small misfire. Well I have got that fixed but I not done yet I guess. The truck runs very good but with no warning it quits. The truck will start right back up. It may die again but will always restart. After a time or two of that it seems to be fine.
Truck has a stuck thermostat witch is keeping the temp below normal. Could this cause my problem? Does my truck have any kind of safety shutdown that may be doing this?
Any help would be nice.
