91 Sonoma ST
I did own a 1991 Sonoma ST, 2.8, 5 speed, short wheel base, regular cab. I would take and flip the air cleaner lid and it would sound awesome.....almost like a 4 barrel carb back in the day. I just did this rarely, te engine would sound just unreal. Made others in S-10/Sonomas look and try to figure out what was under the hood.

Re: 91 Sonoma ST
I leave mine like that, and yea, it does give it a cool sound haha. I don't let my air filter go very long though...

Re: 91 Sonoma ST
NEO- how did you manage to put an open style air filter on your 2.8? what did you do with all the vacuum hoses and map sensor? I have read on here for a while and have not seen this style air filter on a 2.8 and have also read that it was not possible because of the vacuum lines and map sensor.

Re: 91 Sonoma ST
The heat stove rarely works so I just unhooked it and when I ran all new vac lines I left it out. The MAP I made a bracket out of an old air cleaner and pop riveted it to the spot it was factory on the new cleaner.
![]() ![]() ![]() You aint been reading around enough cause I've whored my motor pics a many of time. Even been asked about it enough I have pics on hand of it. While I got this thread all hijacked to hell, this is soon replacing the 2.8 ![]() ![]() 1995 camaro 3.4 with a bit too much work done to it. Last edited by neo71665 : 10-21-2009 at 07:24 PM. |
