2.8 ran bad, now wont even start

1985 Chevy Blazer s10, 2.8L, 4x4. On Friday I took it mudding and got it covered with water inside and out. These symptoms began to show up a few hours after.

Saturday and Sunday's Symptoms:
Started up fine, runs okay below 1500rpm. Rev it up and it stumbles, occationally stalls, even when engine is warm. Floor it, and it pauses above 1500, and shortly after continues to max rpm, no problem. Same symptoms occur when I put it in gear and drive it.

What I did:
Spark plug wires, fuel filter. Drove it 50 miles hoping it would blow out anything in the system. I also switched from 10w-30 to 10w-40 oil (not to fix the problem, I was planning on doing this anyway, she's got high miles)

Monday's symptoms:
Doesn't start at all.

What I did after that:
My friend who works at a garage diagnosed it and determined it was the distributor. Distributor replaced. Spark plugs are perfectly fine as well as the contact points on the distributor cap.

Still won't start.

Final thoughts
It could be the coil, or the primary choke puller, but I dont want to spend the $$$ and have it still broken.

Thanks so much for any help guys! This is my daily driver and I have absolutely no way of getting to work/school otherwise. Fortunatly I'm sick so I don't need to....but that won't last long.

Yup, its getting spark.

We were actually able to get it running briefly yesterday afternoon, but I shut it off because I'm stupid, and we couldn't get it started again. I cant say how well it ran, didnt drive it.

Possibly flooded, but the battery went dead so we cant prove that untill we recharge it.

Well, we flooded it out trying to start it, so it would have to be getting fuel

But its neither here, nor there because we fixed it. Replaced the coil, did some timing adjustments. All works 100%
