Re: 2.8 mods

They make headers, chrome valve covers or fiero valve covers, accel coil, cap and wires, but are out of luck with the air cleaner. A K&N filter works good on these motors.

Re: 2.8 mods

Are you looking strictly for appearance mods, or actual performance-adding mods? As far as appearance, simply stripping down, cleaning, and giving the motor a few coats of high-temp paint can do wonders for its appearance. Throwing chrome bling-blingy parts and colorful ignition pieces on a filthy old motor just doesn't do a lot of good.

Performance-wise, there's a few little things here and there you can do with a 2.8, but nothing that looks especially flashy.

Re: 2.8 mods

It depends on what you wanna do. If you just wanna drive it freshen the 2.8. If you want a bit more power but not expecting some road thundering king, swap a 3.4. If you wanna go out and race the thing on weekends and burn up tires all the time go for a v8,

Re: 2.8 mods

The 3.4 is the same size as the 2.8,you can swap your 2.8 intake, exhaust, etc over to the 3.4.Horsepower goes from 120 to 160 and you can keep driving your truck while building the 3.4 or there is a crate 3.4 from gm. For more performace you can enlarge the bores on on your manifold and use the tbi off a 4.3 astrovan/safari.

Re: 2.8 mods

Yes the 3.4 and 2.8 are externally 99% the same. Damn near everything will swap right out.

About the only dress up parts I know about for a 2.8 are chrome valve covers. If you want chrome pulleys and brackets you better find a good chrome shop and have it done.

For what it'll run that depends and the area you live, what you do to it, buy new or rebuild, and ect.

Re: 2.8 mods

its the same as a 2.8 externally, anything that fits a 2.8 fits a 3.4. So since there is nothing made for a 2.8 it pretty much applies to a 3.4.

I believe the 3.4 we use is out of the 93-95 F. Body. If you go lurk @ a f body forum they may have other ideas too

Re: 2.8 mods

Yes it is used in the f-body but since we have to use all our accessories it turns it into more of a motor out of a s-series so s-series parts with very few exceptions are the only parts that work.
