The wastegate isnt poking into anything? It looks like it comes a good bit away from the engine. It does look good though!

Re: turbo build begins!!!

Lol damn, that is a tight fit. That wastegate looks big though, I know you like it but maybe a slimmer profile wastegate? Or can you not just bend that line a little? You got a shot of the manifold on the engine? like a little more to the left, where you can see the engine.

And im not quit understanding your problem, is the air coming out the other port? What did you hook up to the other end of the vac line.

Re: turbo build begins!!!

some of those lines are gonna be in the way of the dp thats why i fitted it up today to see what all problems id have to fix! so the oil line is gonna have to be redone and ill be moving alot of the cables back outta the way and have them zip tied there all just kinda hangin freely so thats why it looks like that right now!

im thinking i can get a elbow pipe for the wg so its not sticking in that direction! because theres alot more space in front of the header

its leaking out the valve itself thats the air sound u hear in the video because im almost postive when its lifted u shouldnt hear any air noise, and its leaking the the screw in area of the port fitting of the bottom port the other ones seem to be fine on not leaking out the port but c&d seem to wanna leak through the valve stem!

problem solved..
http://www.tialsport.com/prod_wg_mvs.htm
http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=FLS

you could either use the listed adapter from atp or cut off that flange and use the supplied v band flange.
cut and replace would give you the most room

the lines circled are not really able to be moved and being they are brake lines you dont want heat anywhere near them.
doing a hydroboost conversion could give you some more room

vband for the win. you could probably sell yoru wastegate for what you paid for it on ebay, or find someone and swap with you.

Re: turbo build begins!!!

if i can remember right air is suppose to come out of there cause when u lift off the gas its suppose to relieve the pressure off of the exhaust side like a bov does for the intake side. i could be wrong. it has been almost 3 or 4 years since i have built a turbo'd vehicle.

Re: turbo build begins!!!

You can bend new brake lines so they won't be in the way, it isn't hard at all. You could also try switching out the reservoir for a slimmer unit. Also if you buy a second head you should get the valves I have for sell.

haha yea i know nate i really do want to but im tryin to get the basic build down first! so i know what all i have to fix remove or adjust to make it work then i can go from there and beef it up! if u still have them when im all done ill def prob still buy em but if not then no biggie! but all i really got left is the bov, downpiping, oil lines, and turbo and ill be done!

yea i didnt know if that was normal or not ive never had a turbo vehicle or seen a functioning wg on a car to know, but it def is leaking on the bottom port fitting out the screw area so thats not normal i know! with both ports c&d it still seems to be at the about right psi lift though, about 6-7psi without a mbc im gonna play around with it some more later!

Re: turbo build begins!!!

well some good news about my wg..lol i called synapse in cali and talked to peter the guy that runs or came up with the concept of the new products and he basicaly said if they see something wrong they cant fix then they will replace it free of charge with brand new one!! so im pleased!! either way it will be fully functioning when i get it back, and 30 dollars for both valve seats and copper seal! if i went to a distributer it would be like 60-80 so when i get it back ill test fit again and if it dont work then ill be selling it for more then what i bought it

another update:: two weeks from now ill be ordering my turbo! yay!! intercooler pipes should be on there way and intercooler soon too i imagine!

Re: turbo build begins!!!

update:

had a small scare the other day i was passing a vehicle and all a suddon i saw smoke comin out the back and then i see smoke coming out from my hood and im like &$&%& %%_%, so i pull over and quickly turn off the truck and i wait a bit for it to cool down and i see green all over, my radiator hose blew off when i was passing, that was a first..lol def gonna have to get a stronger clamp on that hose because i have a feeling if i get my turbo on its not gonna hold at all! but i was relieved when i saw it was just that thought, whew! thought i was gonna be back to square one for a sec though!

Intercooler on its way! should have by next week sometime, wg sent out on wed. to synapse in ca with money order for new valve seats and copper seal.

was also looking into getting a book on tuning since im new to forced induction, came across this book and wonder if its good book or not?

I'm excited for you. If I were you, I'd download that wastegate and get a TiAL MVS 38mm gate.

Good looking header!

Good luck.

Re: turbo build begins!!!

yea ive been hearing alot of downfall on the synapse wg, but in all the bad ive seen or read about the only problems is when i get to more then 15psi where a mbc is needed to increase the boost, i dont plan on that happeing fora long time so we will see how it holds up when i get it back in full working condition and put in! if it dont work out then tial it is!!

Re: turbo build begins!!!

ahh i just got a call from synapse today and apparently the wastegate i bought on ebay was one of the very first wg they made and only 25 were made..lol and i happend to have it he basicaly said it would be a souvenier and its pretty old, lol but that doesnt freakn help me any i still need a wg so he cut me a really great deal since i already bought that one, 90 dollars for brand new with boost connects and hoses so i guess im still happy they are gettn it sent out today!

Re: turbo build begins!!!

ok i posted before about the one i bought off ebay leaking well i finally got my brand new one that synapse swapped out for me for a hell of a price all this for 90 bucks got the promotional deal!! saweeeet!!!! and i tested this one and no leaks at all and rises right at about 4-5 psi on port c-d just like the manual says so its working

just got tracking number for piping and boost gauge and a quick tap for just after the compressor housing so i dont have to drill and tap my turbo for schedule next week!!
