tach??

hey...i was trying to install an aftermarket tach in my 2.2l and it said i needed a tach adapter...is it true or is there anyway around it without frying my tach gauge or coil pack?????

don't marl my words but ..... there should be a light blue wire near you dash cluster... it is for the tach in the dash.... that wire is there even if your truck doesn't have a stock tach pm me with any Qs...

i dunno, but i installed my aftermarket one without anything special on my 98.
just spliced into the coil pack wire

do the 98's have a signal wire in the cluster harness? My 2000 did and I just spliced into that for the tach signal wire, then spliced into my deck power wire and ground wire, and then found a wire that gave me lights only when the ignition was on for my light wire.
