Speed Limiter/Governor Removal

PURPOSE NOT TO USE FOR IN CITY/HIGHWAY BUT FOR TRACK AND OFFROADING. Using this mod and s10forum.com is not to blame for any accident/problems caused by person doing this mod for YOU CHOSE TO DO THIS whenever its in use. THIS IS ONLY TO INFORM HOW TO GO OVER THE LIMITER ON TRACK/OFFROADING.

ILLEGAL MOD due to mileage stops rolling.

Manual Transmission ONLY-
Mod Toggle Switch;
look for green/purple wire from sensor on right rear of tranny/pull sensor and drive, if it stays 0, its correct otherwise connect and find right one.

Requirement; long 16 gauge wires from autozone(30 feet are more than enough), toggle switch you like.

Wherever you want to mount switch, cut 1 wire, ONLY green OR purple wire and connect it to toggle switch and back, that way when you turn it off, no power goin through, flip back on, power goes through.

Results; odemeter stop readin, speedo remains at 0, ABS(yes the whole Anti Brake System turns off/will feel difference when braking and most driver may not like the feel of it(light comes on) and later the SES light, once you turn them back on, they may stay on(dependin how long u turnd switch off). SES/ABS light sometimes remains on, simple solution turn key on wait, off, repeat several times till it turns off otherwise may wait few days.

Remember stock tires are rated 94-98mph, going over tire rated speed will expand and cause a blow out, will see cracking in between before it occurs

Automatic Transmission;
JET SCU-2000 (Speed Control Unit) modifies the vehicle speed sensor output readings to correct your speedometer and odometer after making gear ratio or tire size changes. Shift points in automatic transmissions are also corrected. As a bonus the SCU-2000 also removes the top speed limiter! The unit installs with simple plug-in connectors to the transmission output speed connector and is easily calibrated by adjusting the dials.

*Available for 1996-Current GM Trucks and some 1994-2002 GM Passenger Cars.
part number 50100

Manual/Automatic Transmission; reflash ECM and remove governor

Re: Governor Removal

The mod toggle switch works on automatic transmissions. Only if you flip the switch right before it shuts off. After i run i turn the truck off for about 20 sec. to reset the computer, then start it back up. I use it only for drag racing.

Re: Speed Limiter/Governor Removal

if you locate the speed buffer, i think it has separate wires comin off for the computer, cruise, and gauges. so if u cut the one going to the computer, wouldnt that work without losing speedo? just a thought.

Re: Speed Limiter/Governor Removal

Wait does the VSS go to the BCM first and then the ECM or the ECM first and then the BCM?
