Serious Tach Help

Alright so i bought a sun pro super tach 2 to put on my 2000 flex 5 speed and i went to the white wire behind the dash and it was giving me the wrong rpm's so i tried it on 4,6,8 and still no correct rpm's. So i bought a sun pro tach adapter that is mad to be used on our trucks and i installed it and still not right....Can someone please HELP me on how to hook up the tach

If I remember correctly you have to remove that wire from the gauge cluster harness either cut it or take it out of the connector to get it to work right

Cut it off and connect it, then make sure you have ground wire on ground and not by bolt or anything that isn't 100% ground.

Take a pic of the connector and white wire you used just to make sure its same as in sticky.

alright thanks ill give that a try tomorrow...so leave the tach wire connected to the tach adapter and just cut the wire from the dash going into my cluster and leav it alone?

i got a 2001 and i have a autometer or autoguage brand, like the ones at the advanced auto parts store and i never cut the wire all the way off the cluster, i just stripped it and run it off the stripped part. Works great and its a 5 spd too. reason i know it works perfect cuz it idles at around 900 rpms and starts to high rev at around 5500 or so. haha if that made sence
