power gains for a 95 2.2 sonoma
ok guys,im new to the forum, not to cars, ive been an inspection mechanic and an ASE tech for 2 years now,and i just picked this up on a trade.
its a stock 95 Sonoma with the 2.2, with probably about 150k on it(odometer is exempt),only things ive done are replace the heater hose pipe with a cheap barb fitting and some heater hose, and it has one of those ChromeIntakes from ebay. id like to make this truck a bit more peppy, and better on gas. the first things i thought of were getting a good header, and a nice catback exhaust with a flowmaster 40 series. pullies i feel should help as well,so that is a possibility. e-fan is also another great idea. i may eliminate the a/c in this truck as well, because in northeastern pa,i dont need it at all. ive read the 2.2 forums for awhile, but i dont get to check on here that much,so if you guys can give me some ideas,id love to hear them. Thanks guys -Kenny |

ASP Pullies from www.aspracing.com
Efan mod are awesome idea and a popular trend to do so for better gas mileage and bring back loss/robbed power of clutch fan, check the sticky for further efan threads. A/C removal doesn't give you any gain, because when turned off, it free spin and doesn't rob anything other than just length of a belt. If you still want less stuff or clear up engine bay, be sure to sell it to someone and wait until they be able buy it in person so a/c system won't be containmented much. As for header, you can OBX from eBay, Pacesetter isn't really that good and more of hassle. Welcome to the forum and if you have any other questions, research and search through posts/threads here and if answer isn't what you want or not clear enough, make new threads with links you found and we'll help you on the rest. |
