Oil cooler
I looked in the performance parts thread before posting!
![]() I need to get some kind of oil cooler or oil filter relocation or both for my truck cause I think that may help keep my truck cool in this desert heat. After that, who knows what I'll do next! ![]() |

Re: Oil cooler
I am using a Permacool filter relocator and oil cooler kit.The relocator changes your filter to a 8A(ford v8) which is like twice as big!Works awsome though.Check Jeg's for dat.Now my filter is under my radiator on the inside of the frame.Lost easier to change.

Re: Oil cooler
After 26 views, I finally get the attention of the guy I was looking for!
![]() So your system relocates the filter; you also have the oil cooler core hooked up inline? |

Re: Oil cooler
well actually i wasnt going to say anything...but
relocating your oil filter like he did...not only adds oil capacity... but helps to cool it down since the lines are exposed to more air... Id try relocating the oil filter...then adding a small oil cooler... Keep in mind the more lines you add, the more oil its going to take...and since you have more oil, and lines, its going to take less to cool the oil down. have you tried using a 180 thermo?? or flushing your coolant system? either one of them may help |

Re: Oil cooler
My oil cooler is placed in front of my radiator.Erronisme is right about the capasity. It added 1 1/2 quarts with everything. The relocator kit (Jeg's part# 771-10695) is $45.99 and the cooler (Jeg's part# 771-10189) is $91.99.I also use a Permacool E-fan.Love their products.

Re: Oil cooler
That's the reason for the oil cooler and capacity increase, my cooling system has a 180 thermostat, I have already flushed the coolant and it still gets warm. I live in a place that is hot and keeping cool is a must.
I understand the importance of an oil cooler and it adding oil capacity, thats why I posted. I didn't know what I was looking for, so that's why I came to the forum, to get answers. |
