Re: injector installation walkthrough

are you for sure its the injector? it could be many different things. My truck had a cyl 3 misfire when my head what cracked. coolant was pooling up around the spark plug to boot connection and it was just shorting to ground before the plug. it could be that, bad wire, coil, plug, headgasket, injector.....

Re: injector installation walkthrough

my friend's vw gets that when its time for a tuneup...his spark plugs get filled with carbon buildup.

i think if your injector goes bad, you will have some serious misfire. if it was a light specifically for an injector, i'd agree then, but its probably something else

Re: injector installation walkthrough

As the others have said, there are many other things that could cause that code. One of my friends car was throwing that code and it turned out it was due to timing, the belt had skipped a notch. Spark plug, plug wire, grounds, any reason you think it is the injector?

Re: injector installation walkthrough

Start Moving Things Around To Be Sure. Move #3 Plug To #1 And See If The Mis Moves. Next Swap The Wires Between #3 And #1. Once U Eliminate Everything Except The Injectors Then Try Those. I Will Get Up A Proceedure Soon For Injector Replacement But Try Those Things First To Be Sure Bud.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

WARNING: Relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing fuel system components in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury.

After relieving the system pressure, a small amount of fuel may be released when servicing the fuel lines or connections. In order to reduce the chance of personal injury, cover the regulator and the fuel line fittings with a shop towel before disconnecting. This will catch any fuel that may leak out. Place the towel in an approved container when the disconnection is complete.

  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement.
  4. Remove the fuel injector retaining clip (2).
  5. Remove the fuel injector (3).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Important: Each fuel injector is calibrated for a specific flow rate. When replacing fuel injectors, be sure to order the correct fuel injector for the application being serviced.

Important: When installing the fuel injector, care should be taken not to tear or misalign the fuel injector O-rings.

  1. Lubricate new fuel injector O-ring seals (1) (4) (5) with clean engine oil, and install on fuel injector assembly (3).
  2. Install the fuel injector upper O-ring (1).
  3. Install the fuel injector lower backup O-ring (4).
  4. Install the fuel injector lower O-ring (5).
  5. Install the fuel injector (3) to the fuel rail.
  6. Install the fuel injector retaining clip (2).
  7. Install the fuel rail. Refer to Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Inspect for leaks through the following steps:
9.1.Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds.9.2.Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10 seconds.9.3.Turn the ignition switch ON.9.4.Check for fuel leaks.

Re: injector installation walkthrough

if you r indeed sure it is the injector. you will need to remove the alternator, the intake manifold, and other lil odds and ends to get the manifold off. i ussually remove the right front wheel to get access to the back of the alt. and mani. once you get the manifold off the injectors are there on the intake.
