How to replace Air Door Actuator?

My heat stopped working in my 02 s10. The air blows but only cold air. It stopped working, started for a day or 2 and then stopped for good. I thinks its the air door actuator. If it is that, how do I replace it? My manual doesn't even talk about it..
TIA MrPab

Take out your glove box, look in the direction of 10 o'clock (in general), there is a electric box on top of your heating plenum. This is the actuator. You will have to take out the plenum to remove this part. Seems like a weekend project. Should not be too hard.

Are you sure its the air door, because it could be your heater core is clogged, or somewhere on the hoses that run to it. You can check this by felling both lines that run into the heater core, touch them when the engine is warmed up and see if they are hot or not.

Don't feel bad I have the opposite problem. I have ALL heat. In STL mo today temps up to 45 low 11. Heat in truck 150-160. I have to pull the dash apart also to change that motor/accuator also. I have a buddy that is getting me the scamatics from Chevy for the interior to do the fix, so I will get them on here as soon as I can or at least a walk through of doing it.

Re: How to replace Air Door Actuator?

Hey guys...I thought maybe the thermostat went bad so I changed that but the truck will not heat up above 150 degrees. Its @50's here in Fl and I put a 195 deg thermo.
Why wont it get up to temp?
