Re: HOW TO: Install Performace Pulleys

Where can I get performance pulleys for a 2.2L? I may install an e-fan later, but I'm using a 235 watt amp pushing a small sub behind my seat. It's not impressive at all. What do I need to get a little more horsepower out of this engine, and where do I buy it?

Thanks.

Charles.

Truck Performance(if it isn't Backorder)

With your setup, it isn't needed for alt pulley, but you can order with it so you have it ready and pay shipping once

Re: HOW TO: Install Performace Pulleys

So all I really need is a smaller crank pulley then? That will gain me a few horses? Thanks.

Re: HOW TO: Install Performace Pulleys

i dont think you get an alternator pulley with the asp crank pulley from truckperformance.com, if you go the asp website they have a universal alternator pulley tho i dont know if you can use that one. Comic where did you get your alternator pulley?

Re: HOW TO: Install Performace Pulleys

I got the alternator pulley and decided not to use it. Crank only for me, which is fine since I don't have a big stereo. If someone wants it, let me know.

Re: HOW TO: Install Performace Pulleys

Since you guys are only changing the crank and possibly the alt pulley, does it have too much affect on the a/c, power steering, and water pump? Im thinking about doing the swap, I just want to know how it affects them, obv. they will move slower then before, but does it hurt anything. Such as, does the a/c still feel as cold? i don't care as much about power steering, but i need the water pump to still be fine. Thanks

I installed both pullies and i haven't noticed a difference in the a/c, w/p or p/s. a/c still blows cold, still got the same engine temp reading and steering wheel is just as easy to turn.

Re: HOW TO: Install Performace Pulleys

Fastest way will be direct to www.aspracing.com

I used with and without alternator pulley, there was no affect on a/c losing any coldness, temperature increasing and whatnot, same as before

Re: HOW TO: Install Performace Pulleys

alright..thanks guys...this might be my next mod to my truck, trying to make it nicer and better gas mileage. Power is also nice thing to add, make it more efficient or lose less power to stupid things. Current project: finish adding a/c. Need it for my daily commute in Houston.

Re: HOW TO: Install Performace Pulleys

i have a system in my truck...
1200 watts peak, 330 RMS. If i install JUST the crank pulley will the alternator be fine for that system? Will i need a new belt?

Re: HOW TO: Install Performace Pulleys

well your pushing quite a few extra amps. You might just want to pick up a alternator pulley from the junk yard. there were some other posts on this subject that some people just put a 2.4L sunfire alternator pulley on and didn't have problems.

you can use the K060716 or K060703, both work fine and the K060703 is well within tensioner specs (use these if you have A/C)

not to hijack but here is my pulley install process and it was worth every penny.

Re: HOW TO: Install Performace Pulleys

hey thanks for helping clear that up. my pulleys just arrived today.cant wait to install them.my truck has a hard time keeping p with traffic uphills.i can keep up but its hard to hit 55 in fifth gear. i usually get stuck at 50 and slowly build up speed.once i pass 55 then its easy to hit 60 and up.hopefully this helps.i did the e-fan and it helped me save gas, my a/c blows a little colder and i got some but not much horsepower gains. after this mod im thinking of doing the throttle body mod.
