help!

So a few days ago my thermostat went out and i cracked my radiator. I replaced the thermostat and the radiator and filled it up with water and antifreeze and started up the truck and it ran really shitty. It didn't want to start up at first, and when it finally did, it sounded like it was a john deer. After it warmed up a little it started running right, but when I'd hit the gas, it'd stumble over itself, almost stall, then the rpms would shoot up like normal. Any ideas?

Sounds like the same thing that was wrong with mine the guy I got it from overheated it and cracked the radiator which in turn warped the head. check your Oil and see if it has antifreeze in it.

Re: help!

could have cracked the head, same thing happened on my 2.2 in my cavalier, it cracked in the side of one of the plug holes... also check your head gasket.....either way i think the problem lies somewhere around the head, so check the whole head real well.....

thats what im thinking. I worked on it today and when the cooling system is under pressure it's making water magically disappear, and when I cut it off and back on, it refuses to start and theres alot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust.

I've got some paperwork pending at a dealership right now for an '03 Sonoma, I spoke with the GM and he said he still may be able to use the s10 as a down payment.

Re: help!

You guys were dead on. It's a problem in the head area. I'm not sure exactly what, but i've had a few guys tell me about this stuff at autozone you pour in the radiator and it'll fix it temporarily. I got the loan on the Sonoma, so if I can get the s10 running long enough to trade it in, it's not my problem anymore.
