Fuel pump not buzzing

I just rewired most of my truck due to an small wiring fire. After the fire was out and work was started to fix the wires, the fuel pump would buzz when the key was turned forward but now that I replaced the wiring (the section that the heater is on) the fuel pump doesn't buzz, and I don't hear a relay click over. I never touched the section that the pump was on, so I don't know how I could have messed it up. Is there any ways I can check if voltage is getting to the pump without removing the bed?

Re: Fuel pump not buzzing

Should be a harness running from the fuel tank to the front of the truck. I forget which wire runs the pump, but i'm sure somebody can answer that.
BTW have you tried starting the engine?

yea, i've tried to start it. It cranks, but no fuel is getting to the motor to turn it over. I'm gonna try and trace the wires back tomorrow

Re: Fuel pump not buzzing

there is a red wire on the driver side corner by the fire wall with a square white connector, run a jumper wire from the battery positive to the wire and should activate the fuel pump, if not the pump is bad if it does replace the relay in the glove box

Check the ground on the drivers side rear framerail also. If that broke or is corroded it may not work. I thought mine died when I tore it apart to repaint it until I found on here about the ground on the frame. If you rewired any other grounds, check those as well.

Re: Fuel pump not buzzing

ok, I took the bed off and put a meter on the pins of the fuel pump connector. At no time is the pump getting any voltage. When the key is turned forward where fuel pump would normally prime, no voltage is found. I traced back the section of wires that the pump is on, and found that its basically a straight shot back to the fuse box. Are there any suggestions of what to do next? Could the ECU be the problem?
