fuel lines quickconnects

ok so i plumbed a fuel cell in my s10 and i went to autoparts store and got 3/8" quick connects (the kind ya just hose clamp the fuel line on the other side of)...the 3/8" quickconnects are a little loose does that mean they are too big? like it locks in but i can jiggle the quick connects and obviously fue comes pouring out...just wondering if i should go back and get a smaller on to see if it locks tightly in..thanks

Not sure I'm following exactly what you're doing, but the quick disconnects do have a slight "jiggle" room in them, you just need to make sure its not leaking, and if you hear it click then it's probably the right size, but I'm pretty sure there are only two common sizes, I wanna say 1/4" and 1/8" maybe?
