99 s10 timing chain wtf 2.2 liter

well lets see im sick of dealing with this crap and sick of listening to this god forsaken chatter.. sounds like somthing hiting the timing cover..
well today i installed a new orielys auto parts tentioner.. and 20,000 miles ago i replaced the tentioner and timing chain with advance parts.. and 2 days later started chattering again so today is why i changed the tentioner.. got it together started and still the same dame thing wtf is going on.. its not the exaust making the noise cause i replaced everything from the motor to the cat last week thinking the header i had was cracked but wrong again.. this is really getting to be a pain and im starting to come to the conclusion that these 2.2s arent worth the shit in my toilet....

ok im pretty certain that everything was installed corect .. theres a little pin in the tentioner.. does anyone know the steps of puting tention on the chain after installing it

does anyone think the chain stretched of have you heard of this happening?

i noticed the first tentioner i took out looked alot different and more round.. whats up with this?

WTH IS GOING ON?

You said that the tensioner had a pin in it? After you get everything installed you need to remove the pin. That is what puts tension on the chain when you remove it. That is the only thing that I can think of. Good luck.

you definetaly should not be able to shake the chain with your finger. Sounds like your chain is stretched or you tensioner is bad

Re: 99 s10 timing chain wtf 2.2 liter

the chain should be as tight as dicks hatband, if not it will make all kinda noise...
sounds like you need a new timing chain tensioner...

IS there by chance a gear drive conversion setup? I'd love to have one.
