211hp / 233 tq Dyno 2.2ohv - Video

We finally put the p.o.s. on the dyno yesterday. My 1999 2.2 ohv with a built motor and turbo put down 211hp / 233 tq with around 10 psi. When we first put it on the dyno, the boost was at 5 psi and the air / fuel was off the chart rich.

With cooler weather, it should be able to put down more power. It was around 100 degrees and very humid yesterday. Yea, Texas summers suck!

I was going to run more boost, but we still had a few bugs to work out with the other fuel system. I might be able to get the fuel straightened out by next week and then head back to the dyno to tune with more boost.

Re: 211hp / 233 tq Dyno 2.2ohv - Video

The blue line on the air/fuel graph was on the 211hp / 233 tq pull. The max a/f on that pull was 11:8.
The red line on the a/f grap was on the 204hp / 224 tq pull.
You should have seen the a/f on the very first pull. The a/f was so rich that it didnt even show up on the chart.

That engine looks like it still needs alot of tuning.

Holly grocery list batman!Wher did you mount your IAT sensor?I mounted mine after the intercooler in the charge pipe using on from a Camaro that screws into a 3/8" pipe thread.Makes a smooth transition into boost and runs way better now.

Mine is maybe 6-8 inches away from the throttle body. I am using the IAT from a 1995 2.3 Quad 4.
You can see it in the pics...

Nope, the Ecotec DOHC head will not work on a S10 2.2 ohv head.

Can you do any ecu tuning for timing and fuelmaps? The car needs to be tuned alittle better down low. What a/r are you using on the turbine side? Good numbers so far though.

Re: 211hp / 233 tq Dyno 2.2ohv - Video

I do not have a way to mess with the fuel maps or spark. The only thing that I have for now is a Cartec FMU. It is running so rich down low because of the 30 lbs injectors.
I am using a .48 A/R turbine housing with a stage 3 wheel. Maybe that is the reason why the power starts to fall off around 4700 rpm. Either that and/or the stock cam.

I am going to run more boost very soon. I just need to work out some quirks with the other fuel system.
The trans will be fine, just as long as I dont spin the tires too much because the gears in the differential are weak. Even if this one does break, I have a back-up transmission with a stronger diff / LSD and shorter gears waiting.

Re: 211hp / 233 tq Dyno 2.2ohv - Video

you should check out the perfect power smt7 or smt6. I have the smt6 and it is awsome. I have 30lb injectors and it runs just like stock at idle. ths smt can controls the timing, extra injectors, fuel, and it has an additional output that could be used for water injection or a shift light. not bad for around $350

Re: 211hp / 233 tq Dyno 2.2ohv - Video

Are you able to tune the spark & fuel by boot with the SMT units? I like how the Emanage has the ability to tune the spark & fuel by going off of boost..

Re: 211hp / 233 tq Dyno 2.2ohv - Video

Yeah the SMT-6 can do both. I think its 144 maps for each by load/rpm scale. real time displays if you want so you can tune while on the drive. Can set up as many maps and save them for differnt boost levels and so on. So if you wanted to run 20lbs today instead of 10 you just load that map.. Its a nice system.

If the motor and fuel are capable of running 20 lbs, I will want to run 20 lbs all the time

nah you need a map for 20lbs on the street and then one for 30lbs when you get some race fuel

I already have the lines, tank, and electronics set up in the car for the race gas. Once I get the little quirks worked out with the electronics, the boost will be going up . I cannot really go past 25 psi since I am only using a 3 bar map sensor for the other fuel system.

The Emanage has 256(16x16) point maps. The E-manage unit only runs$300.The software is another$100.I think both units for their price are subperb and extremely flexable.I just like the fact the Emanage can interface with a boost controler and vice-versa.

I thought that the Greddy E-01 could only interface with a boost controller.
