2000 s10 knock sensor replacement?

How hard is it to replace? And where exactly is it located? I'm also. Trying to replace both. O2 sensors . 2.2l motor on 2000 ext cab, thx guys. Also when I place both parts will the SES light go away or do I need to have them removed in order to clear the light. I hear slight knocking noise only when I press on the gas and listen closely, knock sensor right? Other than that motor runs great!

The knock sensor will detect a knock it doesn't make one, the knock is coming from something else.I didn't think 2.2's had knock sensors but I'm not sure on your year. You will need to get the truck scanned to see why the SES light is on.

But I thought it prevents the truck from knocking, hence, adjusting the fuel mixture to prevent pinging, if it's not working correctly it would prevent it right? Also I got em scanned it was an emissions code, knock sensor, and o2sensor

Does replacing of the sensor require any flushing of oil or coolant or anything?

I would call knocking and pinging two different things, if your knocking just by revving your engine I don't think the knock sensor would stop that, but I don't know for sure. After you change the sensor please post back to let me know. I may learn something new. Good luck!
