Re: it starts...

ok. update.
my girlfriend had our baby last tuesday. 7lbs 1.5 oz
its a girl and her name is nevaeh.
so thats why no recent updates.
Just herd my custom spring seats are done and I should have the head back this week sometime.
after that its custom length pushrods and then ready for install.
I bought a breather tank/oil catch can. I noticed last time my breather filter liked to spit oil.
so trying to stop that with the new setup.
got the cooling lines figured out for the turbo. i also got my custom pan done.
should hold about a qt more than stock.
it also has a 10an drain fitting for the turbo instead of using the fill tube.
I also installed a oil temp gauge to keep things in check

Re: it starts...

Congrats on the kid.
Figured this would be a thread about somebody and there truck starting then quitting running.
I hope to boost my 2.2 when I get money and stuff, its got 139,000miles (222,000kms) so I'd be in for a rebuild aswell.
Motor looks sharp.
I know its no V8 but the numbers you guys are seeing are pretty good imo!
All the paint is coming off my valve cover, so I might get it coated or pain it myself.
What would I have do to my engine to run 10-15psi? I'm on OBDI and considering a Wait4Me Perf. tuned computer if I boost.

Re: 2.2L Turbo Engine Build

I had to take some pics with the larger turbo in place. even though the smaller one will be on for quite a bit more time.

Re: 2.2L Turbo Engine Build

Nice! Are you using a ebay turbo or a brand name one? (NVM, just saw pics)
I've been trying to find a good used name brand turbo, lost a mitsubishi td05h by a dollar on ebay yesterday
Only thing I can't grasp on the turbo setup is what I need to do on my OBDI for fuel management.
You make the header yourself?
Powdercoated valvecover?

Re: 2.2L Turbo Engine Build

I've been trying to find a turbo at a decent price.
I've got to do something with my valvecover cause the paint is coming off it in places, looks like poo IMO.
You have the newer 2.2 though.
Looks great man, these turbo builds are great.
You should get your alternator case powdercoated blue.
