Tstat housing (pics inside)

Wondering if anyone else has seen this rotting on the old dukes t stat housing ? Im going to look for at the JY for one on weds.. but was curious if this is something I should also suspect finding at the JY ?

It has probably been like that for some time , I probably would have never found it if my thermostat hadn't taken a crap.

Well I found out today that a older model tstat (84-86ish) will not work on a 91 .. it hits the belt an it is also a oval shape ( though that wasnt the prob.).Needless to say the old junk is on there for now until I can find the correct one to replace it.

The older ones were not a serpantine setup IIRC.

Yea some where V style , Its my own mistake but I didnt pay any attention to the belt style.
