Not New S10's But My 91 With Hte Good Ole Iron Duke Is Makin Me Crazy .......... Starts Up Run Fine Will Warm And Idle Strang Sumtimes Dying.............
What Been Replaced
Chk Engines Ligth Does Come After Warming But All The Codes The Have Come Up Have Been Replaced
1.temp Sensor
2. Iac .
3. Egr Valve Been Cleaned
4 O 2 Sensor
5. Spark Plugs And Wires (spark Plgs Do Look Lean At An Idle)
6 All Vaccunm Lines Have Chk And Or Replaced
2nd Iron Duke In This Truck It Only Has Around 60,000 On Her (brand New) Old On Went Out @ 176,000 9trans (5 Spd) Under 30,000
This Is A Highly Aggervating Problem It Won Tleave U Stranded But Annoys Me That She Doesnt Rum Right With All Thats Been Replaced.....
Any "real " Help Would Appricated

What were the codes that you fixed? How about checking out the CTS sennsor resistance values. Lesterl has the link to GM reference chart in his sig. How about unhooking the EGR solennoid electrical connector and see if that helps to eliminate the EGR system as a problem.

havent tried disconnecting the egr connector ...the only codes the truck thru was for the temp sensor and the iac chk engine light only comes after its ben run for awhile

Yea you should really look into checking the resistance of the CTS.. My truck used to idle really rough and sometimes die or almost die and it neglected to check the resistance of the CTS and it turns out it was that after all. Do you have code 15?

what is the cts and what is the resisitance supposed to be i would imagine that is sum type of crank position sensor???

Its the coolant temp sensor, on the thermostat housing. I replaced the temp sensor and that didnt fix the problem so you may have the samething. Here is the resistance chart. http://www.s10forum.com/forum/attach...nsor-chart.gif

Connector with a yellow wire and a black wire, pull the connector, use a meter on ohms scale and measure the 2 metal pins in the sensor, should read close to the temp value ohms scale on the link.

yea that would been the temp sensor ( i didnt kno that it was called the cts) never ohm ed out the new one just ass-u-me d it wopuld werk right out of the box
its weird the truck will serg once in gr8 while typically at lower speeds or and idle
