Question My 83 has a 1.9. WTF is that ?!

Ok when I got the truck , dude said it has a 2.5 iron duke . Now the engine catalist tag says its a 1.9 . Never heard of a s10 with a 1.9 . I figured maybe it was a special order or some kind of corperate truck (like a nicor gas service truck) of something . What do you guys think ? Oh all the other info on the tag is correct to the truck .

They had a 1.9l and a 2l IIRC, one was a diesel the other gas up till 1985, in 85 (I had one) they had the 2.5l, and also a 2.8l

I have the Pontiac 2.0L in my 1984 (available in 1983-84 only) and it's only got 83hp. Who says there's no replacement for displacement.

Oh, 1 thing to mention. That motor doesn't not have hydraulic lifters so they must be adjusted every 60,000 miles for the valve lash or something like that.

neither of those above mentioned engines were diesel.

The diesel motor was a 2.2L that was also made by Izuzu and came in 84-85 trucks.
