Re: How much did you paid for your truck?

Got mine for free. Of course I got 2 of them for free and had to build them into one. 4 in drop, sound system, altezza lights, Ma 7 Race seats (sparco knockoffs), custom HKS exhaust, custom intake, AM. Racing wheels, Energy suspension bushings (polyurethane) .....everywhere, Projector headlight conversion, 5%tint, racing wheel, APC pedals, and a hell of a lot more. Blew one motor at 323,000 miles and put a new one in (brand ****ing new). Also have blown 2 transmissions, 1 rearend, and fried all my neon wiring in one fell swoop. Other than that this truck has been a dream.

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?

my first s10: 92 s10, completely stock but perfect body and runs GREAT,5 speed, 125k on it = 2500$

my second s10: 87 s10, bagged, caddy tails, all shaved,56k original miles 5000$

and my new project: 87 s10, 2wd but was jacked up? so i slammed it..workin on it as we speak...5 speed, has 251k on body and frame, engine and tranny was replaced and mileage dont work, so its up there.......800$ and body is good...not perfect but damn good..but the damn tranny just ripped out...lol so if anyone has a tranny for a 2.2 lemme know? thanks.

you'd think that if it was your baby you'd know that in '90 they didn't have a 2.2 hehehe

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?

I gave $325 and a detail job on a 89 Silverado for my first 87 S10 (4 cyl, 4 spd, reg cab, 160,xxx, no options) After i blew that one up, i was gonna put a 350 in it but there was just far too much rust. So i found another one, exact same thing (155xxx) except nicer body and it had a bench seat from a 99 s10 in it and paid $400 for it. Put bucket seats out of my 89 Dodge Daytona in it and sold the bench for $350 bucks. Still have it, but i think the fuel filter is clogged on it and havn't got a chance to change it out between house arrest and jail.

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?

I paid $700 for a well maintained 91 gmc sonoma with 106K on it from the state of Illinois. Was at the state auction with all the police cars and stuff, most have been a locksmith's truck because he left a lot of small equipment in there. Along with 5 million empty packs of marlboros behind/under the seat. Body was solid with a recently but half ass done paint job. Runs fine, AC blows real cold, am fm, tilt, cruise. Only thing it didn't have was power steering but i'm gonna swap in a Power Steering unit soon I think. Manual steering ain't a big deal to me but it can become a burden.

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?

I paid $0. I got it from another Military person going overseas and he said I can have it. Its 85 4speed with a faded gold paint job. The bed is hardly scratched and no dents on the body.. I had to rip the carpet out becsause it was so dirty. I took the whole dash apart and cleaned her up. When I took the bench seat out I found 1.43 in change so I made out. j/k. I changed all the fluids and had her for the pass 2 days. It has 220,000 on it. Craig

Re: How much did you paid for your 2.5L truck?

Bought mine for $800 about 2 months ago. It's an '89 w/ 86k. It runs very well. The only problem is the rust on the hood, doors, and fenders. It was well worth the cash. It also has no power steering or ac...5 spd.

Re: How much did you paid for your 2.5L truck?

I paid $500 for my 89 with 84k a couple years ago. It has no rocker panels and holes around rear fenders but good otherwise. Had a lope while idling when I first got it. Had very low compression on #2, pulled head and found a crack thru the combustion chamber and thru the spark plug hole. Put reman head on, now it runs smooth and strong (well as strong as 96hp can be ). I like the truck because it doesn't squat when loaded like a ford ranger I used to own.

Re: How much did you paid for your 2.5L truck?

89 s-10 standard cab, shortbed, lowered spindles and blocks in the rear. missing driver side glass and driver side door handle. driver door was sagging....pretty much a turd waiting to be polished as my friends call it....$800, motor runs great and current tags but out of state plates...not a bad buy though.

Cool Re: How much did you paid for your 2.5L truck?

'90 E Code pretty much bottom of the line. little surface rust. a few small holes and 2 holes in gas tank. Oxidozed paint. shitty wheels, etc. $100 (knew the people for a long time and they just wanted to get rid of it)

sence then i buffed out the oxidationation, put new shocks(before u would hit a bump and bounce like 10 times, lol) tune up, pioneer reciever and speakers, and worked on body work. worth a lot more than what i paid for it. need to finish on body. still a kick ass project.

I just picked up a '91 Sonoma SL short box w/ 52000 K last month for 3900 CDN. Bone stock. No radio, no antenna a bench seat, dog dish hub caps. I think the only option the original buyer clicked on the option sheet was power steering. Love this truck. Sort of like driving museum piece.
