How much did u paid for ur truck? what year and miles did u got etc..
I got mine not long ago and people thinks it is ripped off for mine and it is not... I used to have a 87 Nissan Maxima before the S-10 and had it for 5 months and is very sick of this car because it needs axle, all 4 struts BAD than u think.. cannot drive in rain because of struts. when braking the rear tire will come off the road! got this maxima for 400 dollars but the engine and tranny is in perfect shape and run like new and silky... powerful V6. Wanted something else and hated front wheel drive also... went out look for something and saw a S10- didnt say the price but i liked it alot and i got to get it and no matter what so i went and talk to the dealer about that truck.. says needs fuel pump... they replaced it.. still not start.... replaced module.. it started... new fuel pump and module... and they gave my car 2,000 as trade in! the blue book says for my trade in value is 465 for maxima! i took that advatage and the truck itself is 3995 and it is 91 model with 144k when i got and took 2,000 off from that truck as trade in and paid other 1995 and that is what truck is worth since maxima worth nothing but after i bought truck they fixed maxima and looks like new and rides like new and is selling 3,500 for that maxima! smart busniess uh? but i liked my S10 somehow and i have a Nissan 240sx which will kill my S-10 somehow haha... my 240sx ran 15.2 at 89 in quarter mile truck i am sure about 17 in quarter... have anyone tried that? sorry long story.. peace out dude |

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?
I got my 91 With 107K miles for 400 bucks. It had just had a full tune up before I bought it too. Althought there was some rust holes in the bed sides, peeling paint on the hood, one head light didn't exist, no radio, no antenna, and shitty tires and rims. All of which was easily fixed with ina few days with things I had lying around The guy a bought off of was a girl I was working withs boy friend. He was going off to the navy and selling all his possesions. He wanted 500, and I said no. So he lowered it to 400 and I took it off his hands. That was a year ago and now it has almost 113K miles. I love it.

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?
NICE.... yeah i bought mine with 144k and had a exhaust cracked also and i replaced it brand new and hope it would be fine
wish that truck had a V6 powered... it is a 4 cylinder unhappy with the power.. it is strong but not strong as my other 4 cylinder vechiles this is the slowest 4 cylinder i ever had. maybe need plug, wire, cap and rotor i havent tune up and it misses a little while idle... is that a tune up needed?? |

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?
$1500 with 88,000 miles. Bed was full of holes where a cap and tool box had been bolted on. No radio, ac still worked, paint all chiped, stupid stickers on the side, and one small dent on the roof. It is a 88 and I got it in 99. Two motors (3 if ya count the 350) 2 rearends and lots of body work later here I am.

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?
Free.
Of course it didn't run when I got it. Brought it to Isanti Tire & Auto, they found out it was a crossed distributor wire. Then it needed exhaust because it was pretty much gone after the cat, and was not fun to drive over 55 (really loud). Got it with 129,000 miles on it. |

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?
88 s10, 2.5L 5spd, not sure how many miles, said 140K but the guy told me different, had a easy street three link in the back with some cheap airlift bags, iroc 15's, lowered up front, 3 1/2" body drop, no radio, no a/c needed some interior, ran great, just needed a tune up, 1500, then i bagged the front, got brand new tires for it, new weather stripping, new window, got a tilt steering column and second gen seats, didn't install seats or column though, but i just sold it for 2500, got what i put into it back which is good, had to sell it since i am getting married. but i will get another one, hopefully soon.

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?
89' 2.5 5 speed extended cab, for 200 bucks, bought it about 2 months ago. It ran like a pissed off popcorn machine when I got it. Right now the block's at the machine shop being bored and prepped for the rebuild. Found out when I pulled the head that the #4 piston was mutilated....But, 500 bucks and a few weeks from now, I'll have a really nice truck. with a brand new motor in it

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?
My baby cost $ 2500 canadian back when my brother got it. 65 000kms mint body and drove like a dream. He drove it for 1 1/2 years they decided it was crap. The fool had no idea that people still pay money for used cars
so he gave it to me. He didn't want the hassle of selling it to someone else. Now After I fixed a few things and I have been driving it for 3 years, it has 123000 kms and silly brother wants it back ![]() |

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?
I paid $200 for my 91' S-10 with 89,000. The bed was so rotten only one bed bolt and the bedliner were holding what was left of it together. It's ugly right now, but it runs like a raped ape. I'm in the process of rebuilding the body with all new sheetmetal. I put a bed on it, bought fenders, inner fender wells, doors, core support, cab corners, etc...all from my friends J/Y for dirt cheap. I'll be posting a thread on the trucks progress in a few weeks. By the time I'm done with the project I'll have about $600-$700 in the whole deal including purchase price.

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?
91' 2.5 5 speed 2 wheel short-bed. Payed $495.00 from the VOA. I bought it to put my 86' Vette wheels on but they didn't fit
. So I found the 16" T/A wheels and put the tires on those . I got my V-8 mounts a couple of weeks ago but they way gas prices are going I might not get to do it for a while.![]() |

Re: How much did you paid for your truck?
Black, go figure , 91 s-10 2.5 T-5 bought in 92 with 17,000 miles at low ,low price of $ 4000. I got it off of an insurance deal , the bed was wiped in a crash .
A new bed, repaced the rubber with carpeting, 15'' 225 75 s and a shiny new paint job and I was a happy camper ,lol yea almost forgot , 170,257 miles as of today.I bought me a 2.5 yesterday and Im haveing it machined , bored , new pistons , cam , heads reworked and a chip made for the new mods being done. I will post the numbers when its completed if anyones interested . Should turn out well, this guy does round or dirt track raceing , and loves to drag in his sling shot fiero ,lol Last edited by 91 Blackbird : 04-12-2005 at 11:42 PM. |
