Re: Alternator bracket
Are the bolts broke flush with the head?

Re: Alternator bracket
might be able to use a hacksaw or dremel to cut some grooves into the bolts if they arent too far into the head and back them out with a flatbit screwdriver.

Blue-- hmmm--I hope you can get this fixed...but I wonder if the tensioner(s) that broke/caused issues were Original Equipment (?).. I did use an Aftermarket one, once, and noticed that it seemed to have a lot more spring tension that the OE one that it replaced. More spring tension = more loading on both the belt and the bracket mounting bolts. I traded this truck off and the buyer said that he also had to replace the alternator because the front alternator bearings went, another sign of too much belt tension. This may be an example of where you must use OE parts. (?) |

Re: Alternator bracket
I got the bolts out, wasnt really hard, i used higher grade bolts and hope it wont break again and it is an aftermarket tensioner but its old(about 6 yrs old) the bearing sounds bad so im gonna change it maybe go with a OE one maybe it will help out like u said
