Re: The NEW Arkansas thread

Hey guys, i'm Brian. Pretty new to the s10 scene, but i've always loved the trucks. I'm up in Rogers, so if anyone would like to help me with my project, i need all the help i can get. I just got a 92 4.3 single cab shortbed. But anyway, i just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks to everyone in advance for all the help this site's gonna give me.

p.s. the first mod is gonna be a tricky one for me. swapping out coils and leafs with ones from a 4 banger model.

Welcome to our family man. Throw up some pics of the ride. And any particular reason you want to switch out coils and leafs with a 2.5 truck?

Same here, what would be the advantage of doing that?

also got a question, if i remember right i once heard of a gas station some where sailing higher octane gas some where.
Something like 98 octane or maybe 101?????

The 4 banger coils under a v6 will drop the nose. Its cheapass but he said he already had the coils.

Its actually not all that bad. Lowers the nose about one inch and doesn't change the ride too much. Now 4 banger springs under a v8 is a diff story

Well, I'm broke as hell right now, but hate the way my truck sits... so, to solve that. i got a 4 banger parts truck. I know it's cheap, but for at least right now, that's what i need.

p.s. I'll post some pics soon, gotta wipe the dust off the truck... and the camera.. lol

Running high octane gas in something that doesn't have the compression ratio for it is about worthless.

I agree, waste of money.

I was just telling them you could get it. We've gotten it for our drag cars many years ago

Well, i'm not stuck on anything yet, but i know i'm gonna lower it (not sure how much, suggestions welcome) maybe about 5/4. Fill in the body line. 18" coys (or coy knock offs). I'm thinking a silver/black 2 tone w/ blue pinstriping. Since i'm building more for show, i'm just swapping in a 283 or 305. I'm looking for a cameo front bumper, but it's hard as hell to find. After that, i don't know, depends on what i feel like... lol. But it's something to have fun with.

p.s. the attached is the bumper i'm looking for... And by the way, What is the easiest way to get the trim off the sides???

Re: The NEW Arkansas thread

i love google... holy shit this stuff is cheap... i figured it would be hella expensive being aircraft grade shit...

looking at replacing most of my frame with a fabricated one of chromoly 4130 tube and boxed, very light compared to mild steel and way stronger, only bad thing is i'll have to ship this in from california

still working on some geometry issues with suspension and steering... other than that not much else is being a problem,

anyone know a place that can make custom brake lines? or at least standard fittings for GM 5/16 fittings in decent lengths?

Damn I've been on 3 or 4 forums and found the arkansas guys and no one has seen this thing. Most of the fullsize forums are telling me to stay away anyways so I've given up hope on that one.

Owell thanks for the heads up.
