Wiring help needed

Ok i have a 97 s10 with a 2.2l that blew on me just under 2 months ago, so i bought a wrecked 99 gmc yukon with a 5.7 vortec v8, and i kept tho whole engine harness and computer from the yukon with the motor as i pulled it out.

Now with having a 2.2l i keep hearing that makes it harder for wiring and what not, so i was thinking about buying one of cpw harness'

my buddy and i were talking and werent sure but now if i was able to get a complete engine harness from a 97 truck or suv would i be able to use it and just simply modify it?

im just lost as it comes to wiring and just want to do it as easily as possible and the most affordable way as possible, so any help or ideas is greatly apprechiated
