I wouldn't be surprised if I've seen you before. I frequent the Friday fun nights and the Wednesday nights when they had them.

Re: Who actually has a V-8

Probably, my truck is a badly oxidized (and rusty) blue longbed - the tower has referred to me before as "team blue primer". I think I would remember a V6 S10 that ran in the 15's tho, most only run mid 16's. I must not have been paying attention.

Re: Who actually has a V-8

Yeah, I really like it too, but it kinda pisses me off. I was sure I was the only one who had the idea for a shaker. He beat me to it though. But, I have a 2nd gen, so I have yet to see a 2nd gen with a shaker. Hopefully I'll be the first to do it.

Actually I would have to say since I mainly do body and frame work building the motor and installing it in my 88 s-10 was easier than doing my suicide doors Much easier. In fact it only took three days the third day only happened because of last minute need for chrome. I'm infact considering a swap doing a swap in my 92 4x4.

Re: Who actually has a V-8

383 - didn't I see your truck on Ebay? Did you just buy it or didn't it sell? Super sweet ride, either way.

By the way, figure I might as well add to this, too . . . mine's an '85 standard cab, short box with a .040 over 10.5:1 350 lowered 2/3, 3.42 posi, and 2000 Xtreme rims with z-rated rubber.

Re: Who actually has a V-8

Really? How much? I saved BIG TIME on my engine, but it came without a harness so I was gonna just get a complete custom one from Jared. I got a 1995 Impala SS LT1, got the engine for a mere $500, and snatched the tranny for $250. What kinda times you running?

Re: Who actually has a V-8

You work at Autozone in Rock Falls? I live in Sterling! This world is just too small. 18? I thought it was the 16th and 17th when they have the swap meet and test/tune. Either way, I'm there. I gotta remember to call off work that day.

Re: Who actually has a V-8

SSonoma - I was just in Sterling for my cousin's wedding (I live about an hour from there, right off Rt. 80). Do you know Kurt and Katy Downs? I forget Katy's maiden name right now, which would probably help ya. Kurt's not from around there originally. Just curious . . .

Re: Who actually has a V-8

This is to people who put a small block in a 2.2 s-10... Ive been lookin at the mount kits in summit and they say those kits are for 4.3 s-10 stock mounts only, so would i have to get some stock 4.3 mounts first or what?

Re: Who actually has a V-8

Advance Adapters makes good adapter plates also.

You can use the 4.3L motor mounts or the 2.8L (which some say are better?) I've used the 4.3L mounts for 5 1/2 years & 35K miles with the Advance adapter plates - no problems at all.

Hi, I was just wondering what you don't like with your TH 350 instead you wish it was a 700R4 what's the differnce? one thing I know is that you can not install a transbrake in the 700R4, is there anybody out there selling a 350 or a 400 that can support approx. 600-650HP?

My factory 400 in my fullsize held the 550 HP for about 3000 miles, now it just skips 2nd gear and has trouble going into 1st and reverse. I would find a respectable shop to build my tranny. I'm having my 400 rebuilt to hold the 1000 HP I'm expecting to shove through it. Here's a company near me that I've heard good things about. One of the other 454SS members here in Dallas just had one put in his truck and he's very happy:

Re: Who actually has a V-8

Please help?! Any one know what is involved in a 350 to 350 tpi swap? I have a 350 combo in my 94. I got a 350 tpi and 700r4 I wanna drop in. Are the lengths of the trannys the same? What about O2 censors? I know I need to change fuel pumps and run a return line. Any one got info on return line w a fuel cell? recomendations for fuel pump. I might be able to get the stock iroc fuel pump from my 350tpi donor. but isnt that an in tank? I am running an inline holley now. How about smog shit? what can i keep and what can i get rid of? mine is a 94 so I dont have to plug in in my state, I just want to know what i need to run the motor? I would think the swap should be a lot easier than the first swap. 4.3 to 350 carbed. The fab work is already done.
