vortec 4.3 to vortec 5.7 swap

4.3 just blew in 97 pickup and im looking to put a vortec 350 in it. if i find a 96-97 tahoe or suburban with a vortec in it, will the wiring work if i use the computer from the v8 truck? Im aware of making mods and using electric fans new motor mounts etc but will i need a new radiator?

You will need to the the injector connector from a V6 and add in the wires between it and your PCM but the rest will work.

Re: vortec 4.3 to vortec 5.7 swap

I'm quite sure you could search and find all of this information, but I'm bored so I'll answer it to the best of my knowledge.

From what I've read, you're gonna have to run 2 wires from the computer to the injector on the V8 to fire the other 2 poppets. Other than that, you might have to lengthen a few wires to make em reach, but the 4.3 harness should work on the 5.7.

The rest is basically the same as any other V8 swap. Mounts, headers, radiator, fans, etc...

I'm in the process of collecting parts for the same swap in a '03 Blazer. I took the whole V8 injector plug out of the harness from the V8. I pulled all of the wires from the plug on the computer. I'm gonna take my 4.3 harness apart and add the V8 plug.

Re: vortec 4.3 to vortec 5.7 swap

youll also need to flash your PCM so it knows to send power to - or ground the injector wires, im not sure exactly how that circuit works.

Will need a flash tho, prolly around $100
