hey guys i got my original 350 build that through a rod which i had bored over to 40 about 4 months ago and i have another motor that i need to have bored but i wont worry about it if i dont need it but my problem is i have heard that you have to worry about over heating after you go past 30 and i am not terrabally worried but still not sure what i should do what do u think,

The cylinder walls are just a little bit thinner... It souldn't make that much of a difference... If anything, it'll just make the coolant heat up a little faster... What all are you using to cool it?

Mine is .040 over. It runs on the warm side during long runs towing but never overheated yet. I'm using the vette rad with a clutch driven fan but no a/c probably makes a big difference.

An overbore has no effect on the cooling system. If it's overheating there is an issue with the cooling system or the tune, nothing to do with the bore size or wall thickness.

60 over you might have some problems but 40 over youll be alright unless you live in orlando, fl. shit its 90 right now.

Im .60 over and I live in orlando florida with no problems lol.If you do live where its hot Id prob. run a 180 thermo.

im .60 over no problems, like somebody else said if your over heating its due to another problem. My old mans bbc 427 is .110 over and it never gets hot.
