tall valve covers?
I'm setting my engine in now for fitment and break in, i haven't got a tranny yet though, the firewall looks super tight on the bell housing(almost as if the tranny wont fit), is this normal? with the trans dapt mount from summit i am told i dont need any firewall mods? and also my tall valve cover isnt fitting with the factory brake booster, is this normal cause from pics it looks like people have talls on some of their 350s, and if this is normal can i get a smaller diameter booster to fit my valve cover, possibly off of an older s10?

Re: tall valve covers?
things are going to be tight by the firewall, you will probably have to do some "massaging" with a hammer to get things to fit well... especially to get to the bellhousing bolts
and you will need a smaller diameter booster, you can either go with an aftermarket one or i hear the ones that came on a dodge neon fit, but double check that because im not 100% sure |

Re: tall valve covers?
anytime i remove a s10 tranny i bend the pinch weld up on the firewall. it makes life simpler to remove the tranny again if it fails.
