Summit Oil Filter Kit won't Stop Leaking!

Its the kit that Summit advertises for the S10. It leaks at the engine block. This is my 2nd gasket because the first gasket twisted up inside and broke. How tight do you have to get those things before they seal? I dont have a tool that can actually get them tight enough unless I could get the car on a hoist. I have a 350 V8 btw but the kit is universal.

what kind of kit are you talking about? is this a remote oil filter? or just the filter mount off the side of the block?

try cleaning up both sides, where the mount contacts the block and the block itslef where the gasket comes into contact. and try using a little bead of black rtv on both sides of the gasket and let sit for 24 hours

Turns out its my aftermarket oil sending unit with the plastic tube squirting oil all over.
