Rad hose question

I installed the vette rad. Hmm this thing is actually a bit shorter(core lenth) than my 89 4.3 rad. I've got questions on the hoses. The bottom fits perfect except the rad side ID is smaller by about 1/4". Do you recommend using like a rubber bushing? Where can you buy it from? My local parts guy doesn't even know what I'm taking about. For now I used a cut piece of hose but don't feel comfortable using it. The top hose ID is ok but the shap is incorrect at the rad side. I'm using an outlet from an 87 Monte. If you're looking from the top of the engine it points to 4:00 oclock and the vette rad tank inlet faces directly back but my 4.3 faced angled in. What top hoses are you guys using? I don't want to use flex type because of the plastic tanks. Thanks for any replies.

Re: Rad hose question

I just went to the parts store down the street and looked at all the hoses that they had in stock and grabbed one that fit.

Re: Rad hose question

Ive got the same rad and stock 4.3 hose. I just cut some off of a hose that fit on the vette rad (old hose i had laying around) and then shoved the 4.3 hose over that. Its been on there for almost 3 years of daily driving. Its a bitch to get on and off but seals great, but napa sells similar things exactly for that. For the upper hose im running the stock 4.3 thermostat housing b/c i already had, and for the upper hose im running an 85 5.0 camaro hose with maybe and inch or so cut off of it. Check the link in my sig its got pics. The camaro hose needs just a little twist to line up, so when you get it from the parts store it looks a little weird but also has been on my truck for around 3 years of daily driving

Re: Rad hose question

you can use a vacuum cleaner belt cut it to length and put it inside of the hose.
