question on eagle 383 rotating assembly

ok so me and my friend got a 383 stroker motor and it had a broke piston. so we pulled that rod and noticed that the journal was messed up, but we dont know who built the motor or anything. we went ahead and pulled the crank it has i beam eagle rods, speed pro pistons, and eagle 383 crank but all the rod journals are messed up and need to know if anyone can tell me what the numbers mean on it. i know they are a production code but we think it a externally balanced crank that was not externally balanced. the numbers on the crank are 383 ci of course and s-07-06-049. any help would be great

Re: question on eagle 383 rotating assembly

it had to have been externally balanced.... i dont think eagle makes an internally balanced 383 crank? i havent been able to find one if they do.... so if you got it wouthout a balancer and it just had a pully on it, chances are thats what happened. either that or they used a 350 balancer instaed of a 400 balancer...

Re: question on eagle 383 rotating assembly

i know they have balanced ones but i pretty sure this one was supposed tto be externally balanced it is the lighter wieght one wit te golf ball size hole through the rod journals from the side but we are pretty sure they torqued the rod bolts 75 pounds when they should have been 40 and it didnt have a balancer it was pretty much just a thing to bolt a pulley on
