They should fit, but when I get them I'd like to get some plain black ones and put "sonoma gt" on them as opposed to "corvette". Plus I'm kinda busy pinching pennies savin for a 4-link,narrowed diff, supercharger, and all that fun stuff.

BTW, you are on LS1tech correct?? I recall seeing your screen name in the conversion section.

Probably a typo...but it's a 1992. Nice lookin GT, makes me wanna do body work on my GT(needs paint). Also, why the chevy grill instead of the 91-93 "GMC" grill? Just curious.

LT1's are reverse cooled, have the water pump driven off the camshaft and the semi-reliable opti-spark distributor behind the crank hub. Like den said thats not a LT1.

LTZ is just the model caprice that the engine came from....its just a lame-o LO3(or 5, not up on my TBI RPOs.)

It's a Sonoma GT. Syclones were made in 91, this was made in 92. It came with a N/A 4.3 V6 and is RWD as opposed to the AWD of Syclones. Still came with the body kit you see in the picture which is close to the same of Sy/Ty's just no fender arch and the rocker cladding is different. Also has the custom interior the SY's had minus the embroider'd head rest and the boost gauge. Sonoma GT's are also about 3 times as rare as a syclone(total of 806 production models). If you want, I can post more pics or a link to a thread I made while the swap was going on.

There actually is a place that sells a complete sy/ty body kit remade in fiberglass, but it is very expensive. Around $3,500 dollars if I remember correctly.

Here's the URL: Sportmachines.com

that is correct, and in the model years 94-96 they put steel lt1's in the 9c1 package cop caprices and impalas. i was mistaken and assumed that they went for the better engine.btw opti-spark

Re: Post pics of your V8 Engine Bay (New Thread)

heres my engine bay, not quite done yet, but gettin closer, headers arent finished yet, either goin to get them ceramic'd, or paint them with black header paint.

tones of room, like 3-4inches, with a 1-11/2 fan spacer, 86 corvette rad, sunkl right into the rad support

IMO get them ceramic coated, they will last a HELL of alot longer and keep temps down inder the hood (not to mention look alot better). You got quite a bit of clearance between the fan and rad....what mounts are you using? Im gonna try to keep my AC so Im gonna need the room

5.3 L straight out of a Envoy. My grandpa did this. Awesome sleeper.

Notice the raised front half of the truck to fit the engine.
And, uhhh....just guess.
