so i am getting my parts list ready for the v8 conversion!. now when i yank out my poor 4cyl i will take everything out of the engine bay except for the ac evaporator and the brakes. now what do i do to the inside? do i yank all the wires out and re wire the whole truck or is there an adapter or somthin that im just missin? i would like to keep interior as stock look as possible, except for gauges of course. will i be able to use the stock shifter assembly or will i have to make me a new one! all help wouuld be awsome. |

Re: need some advise!!!!
I think there will be a minimum of yanking, but it depends. Is the V8 fuel injected? Are you running a standard or automatic with overdrive? You know you can't use the 2.2L 5 speed, right?

Re: need some advise!!!!
yes i no that the 2.2tranny wont fit. im not sure if i want carbed or fuel injected. i think that if i go carbed i have to change the fuel tank. but if i go fuel injected i have to run a computer. so what do you think would be easier? thanks alot! mike

Re: need some advise!!!!
Im kind of curious why you think you have to change your fuel tank, there should be no reason that you should have to. Just run an electric fuel pump to your carb setup if that is what you choose to do so you dont have to mess with any of that. And if you do a v8 fuel injected you are going to have to have an ecm for it which is the computer. If you go fuel injected try getting it as a set, meaning motor and computer so that away you dont have to mess with it too much as in wiring all your own stuff, it will all be right there.

Re: need some advise!!!!
Before you start removing or yanking all the wires, you might want to decide for sure if your going carb or fuel injection.
