My 95 S10 vette swap

I thought I'd post a few pictures of my 95 getting a LT1 vette installed. The swap is being done by the Carolina Rod Shop near Greenville South Carolina.
Instead of posting a bunch of pictures I thought it would be better to just post a link to their current projects page: http://www.carolinarodshop.com/curre...rrent_proj.htm
The link to my truck will be at the bottom of this page.

At this stage in the swap we're waiting for the wire harness. Finish the power stearing hook ups and install the dual fans and we'll be ready to put it back on the road again.

From their other customer cars it looks like they do good work. Your truck is coming along. There are some on this site who say you don't need to cut or weld anything to put a V8 in a S10. I think your photos show that indeed you do have to. Keep us updated.

They have a reputation for doing good work. Thats why a (Corvette) friend of mine at work told me I should go see them about this swap. I spent over an hour and a half looking at their projects and seeing a Blazer and a first gen S 10 they had done.

They test fitted and mesured the engine placement several times to make sure they had the every thing right for my truck before making the first cut.
The engine now sits about one inch plus back. Up one inch and over towards the passenger side about 3/4 an inch.

The origional Corvette oil pan was changed out for a Camaro oil pan for a better fit with the least crossmember cuting needed.

There is one frame cut out you didn't see and thats a closed scalope cut on the passenger side with a plate welded on the outside of the frame to ensure absolute structual integerity to the frame in that area. This was done for exhaust manifold clearance.

Sure. Looking forward to finaly getting it back on the road again. Thats all part of our car rodding and modding culture that I've enjoyed all these years of being a car nut and racer. Getting to getter with other people who enjoy the same has always been a "value added" part of our sport.
