LT1 problems...

Running a 95 corvette lt1 in my 1999 s10 and the battery died in it so i got my battery charged and checked at o reillys and everything is good to go. Get home throw the battery back in and start it back up and it ran like complete crap. Voltage showed around 11 volts and was going up and down between 10 and 13 volts. With a quick rev to about 3k it jumped to a bit over 14 and stayed solid. Ok cool got that taken care of.

Well i would rev it up to about 2500 rpm and the exhaust would pop and cackle and the truck would bog down a a little. Not sure Why at all. Notice the exhaust is pumping out a little bit of moisture possible water in the gas tank. I hate to say this but the the truck has had the same tank os gas for over a year. Almost a year and a half. Just havent had as much time to drive it as i would like to but things are settling down and hours got cut at work so i got more time to get stuff done but oh well.

Somebody help me out here!!!

Re: LT1 problems...

First thing I would do is get some moisture eliminator from AutoZone. Put it in the gas tank. It will get rid of the H20 in the gas. You definitely don't want water in the fuel.

Once the motor is running on "good" gas you can re-attack any issues.

I know mine is real sensitive to low RPM's and will charge better after it gets a few RPM under its belt...

Probably not unless you were out trying to do some WOT passes at the track. Water just causes poor ignition and you'll end up with pre-ignition AKA knock AKA detonation which CAN cause damage.

Don't worry too much - just get it taken care of.
