Is there a simple way to wire w/o ecm?
I put in my 350 with carb. Cut out the ecm. Got basic wirng to run but having trouble with the rest of the wiring. I can only find one wire under the hood that is keyed hot. A fat pink one. None of the orange work. So I have the fuel pump, elec. choke, and elec. fan thermo switch all tied together for power. My 1988 wiring diagram from autozone is very different from what I see in the truck. Can anyone help me please? Thanks.

Re: Is there a simple way to wire w/o ecm?
This is a 88 s10 balzer 4x4. I have the Haynes manual but couldn't find it today. I read some where that the wirng changed 87 to 88. Maybe I have an early 88 or something. Is this a common problem when going to carb w/o the ecm?

I put a carb'd motor in a 88 camaro I had, very easy swap IMO. but it already had a TBI V8 so it was easier.

I'd try maybe looking at the 87' or 89' diagrams to see what you can relate. Alot of times the wiring colors are wrong, even some of the newer 01-03' C/K trucks aren't right even on GM SI.
