Re: head bolts

Um ARP has torque ratings for their bolts depending on the type/material you have.

Re: head bolts

The bolts should come with an instructions page.

You torque them to the normal torque rating for the engine you're using them on.

Correct and incorrect. I have the ARP book here in my lap and depending on the type of material the bolt it made of ARP has their own torque specs. The torquing sequence stays the same tho. The sales book doesn't list head torque numbers just says refer to the spec sheet. It offers head bolts/studs in 11 different metals so each is gonna be different.

this is true, ARP has their own torque specs, and studs differ from bolts as well, so you need to either call arp and ask them, or find the tech sheet that came with the kit

Re: head bolts

I have bought about four different sets of ARP studs and bolts in the past year and a half.....and NONE have come with a spec sheet.

Really pisses you off to have to go inside and look it up on ARP's site at midnight!!!!!!

Re: head bolts

The torque values for the bolts are also different between a cast and alum head to compensate for heat expansion.
