Edelbrock (or someone) with TBI

Anyone ever swap on one in place of the cast factory piece?

I'll get the weight saving obviously, but... any performance gains to be had?

Other negative/positive issues?

Particular brands better/worse than the Edelbrock ones?

This is on a mildly cammed, header'd '90 350 with stock TBI.

Did you have the chance to drive it with the stock one for comparison of performance?

I'm mostly wondering if I'm going to see much if any difference, or is it just going to be a few pounds off the front end and a bit of bling.

The stock tbi intake is aluminum. You wont lose any weight from a new intake, but you will gain some power.

Heh - yeah, mine's all painted black from the factory. I haven't even taken it apart yet to swap the cam, so I just assumed it was cast iron! Was talking to the parts guy about a (3701?) manifold and he told me the same thing.. hehehe.. Oh well, live and learn.
