carb'd v8 wiring questions
im at the point were im going to start test fitting motor for shaved firewall and im starting to get more parts lined up as i get closer to the swap, one of my big questions is i have a 99 s10 and going to a carb'd v8 the truck was bagged with a semi large stereo system well i trashed that and finished body dropping the truck well i know i can use my factory wiring harness BUT for the sake of me wanting to do this right and nicely done, my problem is debating if i want to run a new harness like a painless kit or using a factory harness one side of me wants to run the painless kit because my facotry harness is pretty trashed up from all the accesories, front end conversion i had and tail light conversion that were there, soo if i kept the factory harness i would buy a new factory harness from a junkyard or something like that, but then a side of me says if i am going to pull the harness now why not just buy the painless harness and go that route, some of the questions that are holding me back is one the motor goes in i will have the interior re done for a smoothy dash and will have all after market guages, can you make a factory harness run a full set of aftermarket guages for the necesities that need to be there, and if i do decide the painless kit how hard is the install process along the lines of everything that is required for the install no, pretty much a bar harness for lights turn signals tail lights just the min. you need to have

Re: carb'd v8 wiring questions
you really need to use sentence structure, or break it up into seperate paragraphs... because that giant clump of words is very hard to read, you lost my attention somewhere in the middle

Re: carb'd v8 wiring questions
it may be "just a forum" but when nobody can understand what the hell you post... it makes posting kinda useless now doesnt it?
just because its the internet doesnt mean typing like a retard is ok... as much as everyone seems to think it is |

Re: carb'd v8 wiring questions
I did a 350 motor in my 96 sanoma and used a painless harness much better and easyer to work with. And I have aftermarket gages also . good luck with it all.

Re: carb'd v8 wiring questions
go for the painless harness man. or if you wanna save some $ summit has the same harness with their brand cheaper and it's the same damn thing
personally for mine i gave the entire wiring harness to the guy i sold my 2.8v6/auto tranny to. I'm gonna run the 12 circuit kit for GM steering columns and run all aftermarket mechanical gauges |
