Bad vibration

Hello,
I have been building my s10 for 4 years and this year finally got it inspected and on the road... Its a zz4 crate motor with a nv3500 tranny witha ford 9in, so im still running the 4cyl leafs and It wheel hops Bad, so bad ive never spun tire....ever... so I finally get a few bucks and put on traction bars today and on my first drive it seems like its vibrating more than usual.. I always assume since I have low profile tires and a slightly bent rim it was always that. But now around 25mph it vibrates noticably, but if I push in the clutch it seems to go away.
also if i floor it just rolling in 3rd under load it seems to make noise and vibrate... I was thinking maybe a loose flywheel but im past my point of knowledge here. Any help is appreciated

wheel hop is what happens -from- spinning tire, most commonly on a vehicle with a leaf type suspension without traction bars. also called axle wrap from the axle trying to climb up over the leafs and actually twists the leafs... so in your case, if youve never done a burnout, you havent had wheel hop yet

as far as the vibration,if it -completely- goes away when the clutch is in, its not the flywheel, thats bolted directly to the crank and keeps moving whether you depress the clutch or not

its either an out of balance clutch pack, or something in the tranny, possibly a bent input shaft or something.... when you press the clutch and it goes away, are you moving or sitting still?

Re: Bad vibration

hey Maverick, i meant when i try to burnout or even accelerate hard it starts hopping... I meant it has never let me stay in it, I always have to let off or im sure something would break.

I wouldnt say it completely goes away when clutch is in but it gets better.. and sometimes when the truck isnt in gear or anything it just has vibration but then just goes away. It only started today that when its moving between 15-30mph it vibrates more than any other speed and when i depress the clutch it smoothes it out. then when i strain the motor its defiently vibrating more than usual and sounds different

Re: Bad vibration

ok, im fairly certain its clutch related, probably worn or out of balance... does it chatter or slip at all when you get on it hard?

and try something for me, you say it does it the worst between 15 and 30, check the RPM when its bad, and then match that RPM in another gear to see if it does it there as well... this will tell you if its RPM related or speed related, if its RPM its probably clutch, if its speed it may be a driveline problem... but at this point i doubt it, it sounds a lot like clutch to me

Re: Bad vibration

so it seems to be speed not gear, but in my look over of the truck i found the passenger side motor mount has broke the weld on the frame....
