98 s10 2.2 to 350 carb

hey all,
i have been wanting to do this for a long time. i finaly am ready to begin and would like some advice. i would like to get a chevy small block 350 that is carberated. then i would like to get the stock s10 4.3l 5 speed tranny. then i was going to get the driveshaft from the 4.3l s10. if that will work. then i heard that since im going carberated that i will have to modify the gas tank fuel pump. also how do you guys wire up the interior. do you just leave the stock harness? thanks and all advice is really apreciated thanks. mike

Youre right, the stock 2.2l pump will put out too much pressure for the carb so you will need to get an external regulator. What do you mean by the interior? Most if not all of your stock gauges will not work since they are hooked to the computer. I would pull almost every harness out of the truck then rewire it.
