Re: 97 s-10, SBC 400 build
small hiccup...the rear end that i purchased is 7" wider then stock which means I have 2 options...cut axle tubes and buy new axles or get some corvettes rims and run spacers on the front
right now I am thinking of running the corvettes rims but I am just worried about the spacers in the front...i am not worried about daily driving but am worried about at the track because IF the front end leaves the ground; will the spacers hold up when they are slammed back down into the pavement? any experiences or thoughts? |

Re: 97 s-10, SBC 400 build
What if we, I, were to fabricate a steel spacer as opposed to aluminum and used hardened studs? Even if we have to fabricate the studs too.

Re: 97 s-10, SBC 400 build
True, but someone will have to beg, borrow, steal, or otherwise aquire the appropriate spacer material! I'm thinking some 718 that a certain industrial manufacturer might have laying around would work perfectly!

Liking the build. Just wondering why you keep running it if you plan on putting it on the dyno? What rear end did you buy that it is that much bigger?

Re: 97 s-10, SBC 400 build
Running the engine? It has only been run 3-4 times for a max of 1 minute each time the rear end is out of a 67 or 69 camaro (cant remember)...bought it from a buddy of a buddy...its a gm 10 bolt fully built |
