96 S10 and 97 S10 Engine Harness and ECM

I have 96 S10 without a motor and harness. I'm doing V8 swap and found harness and ECM for 97 S10.

What I see from wiring is that ABS is different from 96 to 97 year. Does anyone know how the ABS is controlled on 97 S10.

No S-10 ECM is going to control any V8. GM never sold any V8 S-10s. The best was a 4.3L V6. Look at the V6 distributor, then look at the V8 distributor. See any differences? There ya go.

this is the biggest line of bullshit i have ever heard.

im using a 2001 s10 blazer pcm to control my 98 c3500 truck motor

the same computer can also be used to control the LS series of motors

this is completely false, like tippman said, around 99-02 s10's used the 12200411 pcm to power them, which is THE SAME pcm used for the v8 vortec trucks and vans as well as the LS1's in the camaros and vettes... not only that the earlier 4.3 ecm in the s10's has been very successfully used to power the TBI 350s with little effort

next time know what youre talking about before being a cocky smartass, because you look like an idiot when youre wrong

^Are you talking about pinning the harness to V8 or how to repin the harness for 97 truck?

Do you have a link?

Re: 96 S10 and 97 S10 Engine Harness and ECM

the 96 ABS is built in to the PCM i think, there is a separate module used to control ABS on 97 and newer.

if you want to use a 97 s10 harness you will need the injector pod(assuming your swap is fuel injected) from a V8 1500 harness and change a few pins at the PCM for the v8 configuration. I did it on my 96 blazer with a vortec 5.0l fuel injected, it works.
